SMLXL Lab

Welcome to the SMLXL Lab

Tokyo shiftIt is our intention that over the coming months we will be exploring what engagement means -via different technologies, projects etc.,

For example we took a number of people from Blyk to Tokyo as part of the SMLXL Lab to look at Mobile Advertising. This was of extremely useful both for us and for Blyk  – and pointed to ways in which Mobile advertising will evolve in Europe, particuarly in the UK and the Nordics.

London Profiler
London Profiler unlocks the potential of hitherto unexploited datasets
collected or assembled for neighbourhood profiling using the
visualisation interface provided by Google Maps API (Application
Programming Interface).

London Profiler is a web site that enables users to build up a picture
of the geo-demographics of Greater London from data on population
attributes such as cultural/ethnicity, deprivation, the extent of
e-literacy, level of higher education, and health related problems
together with the synthetic free geodemographic classifications
available in the UK.

London Profiler allows users to visualise themes at different scales,
to search by postcode or zoom at borough level, to change the layer's
transparency and to add KML layers.

London Profiler has been developed using GMap Creator, a software
developed at CASA - Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis the GeoVUE
Node of the UK NCeSS Programme.
