Newnan Utilities was able to donate to local organizations through its Caring Customers program.
Thousands of customers donate to the program each year. Some give monthly while others give periodically, but the impact is significant. The Caring Customers program has awarded more than $83,000 to local nonprofits since its inception.
Three local organizations recently received grants from Caring Customers. Grants generally range from $500 to $2,500. Deserving organizations recognized by the Caring Customers Advisory Board for the second quarter of 2022 included the Coweta Organization for Riding, Rehabilitation and Learning, One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach and Sisters for Society Corporation.
CORRAL provides therapeutic riding facilities and lessons for people with mental and/or physical disabilities by providing exposure to a sense of freedom and accomplishment while enjoying the outdoors.
One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach champions those who serve the Lord, work with families in crisis in Coweta County, and provide food, clothing, financial assistance, and shelter.
Sisters for Society Corporation provides a lifeline of support and knowledge to marginalized individuals and families facing financial instability.
Newnan Utilities aims to have a positive impact on the communities they serve, according to Jeff Phillips, CEO of Newnan Utilities.
“Our customers are passionate about community and believe in a hands-on approach to making our community a better place to live, work and play,” Phillips said. “Together we help our neighbours.”
Nonprofits are encouraged to apply by August 1 to be considered for the September grants review.
