Les Sages Fous de Trois-Rivières receives support from the Government of Canada for the creation of the Fabrique de Théâtre Insolite
TROIS-RIVIÃRES, QC, August 9, 2021 / CNW Telbec / – The government of Canada supports artists and their productions by investing in quality creative spaces. Access to meeting and sharing spaces plays an essential role in the vitality of communities and their cultural enrichment.
Today, the Honorable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage, announced $ 1. $ 6 million in funding for the Fabrique de thÃ©Ã¢tre insolite de Trois-RiviÃ¨res, a hall that will specialize in the creation of original works of puppets and object theater.
This investment, provided by the government of Canada through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, will allow the organization to improve, renovate and redevelop the existing spaces of the RÃ©collets-de-Trois-RiviÃ¨res heritage site. The works will give rise to a new cultural complex adapted to the activities of creation, mediation and dissemination.
The funding will allow the organization to acquire specialized equipment, including lighting, sound, video and projection systems and rigging, as well as stage dressing, stage equipment and control room furniture.

The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund supports improving physical conditions for the arts, heritage, culture and creative innovation. The Fund supports renovation and construction projects, the acquisition of specialized equipment and feasibility studies related to cultural spaces.
The Mad Sages was founded over 20 years ago. Based in Trois-RiviÃ¨res, the internationally renowned company has presented around 650 shows in front of 150,000 spectators at more than 200 international festivals and theatrical seasons around the world.
Since its arrival in Mauricie, the company has developed a unique style of theater with puppets, objects and humans. The Mad Sages create bizarre and unconventional visual shows that lead audiences into the unknown.
