Fort Worth celebrated William Rmuly at last week’s City Council working session for being named Goodwill North Central Texas Community Member of the Year. The award was presented at a luncheon held annually in December to honor high performing staff members, service award recipients and a Community Partner of the Year.
Goodwill North Central Texas’ Community Member of the Year is awarded to a community member or community organization who has assisted Goodwill in meaningful volunteerism, placements, advocacy, or financial support. Rmully was honored for his work with Summer Earn & Learn, known as SEAL.
In partnership with Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services and in conjunction with Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, Goodwill North Central Texas’ SEAL program creates employment pathways for students with disabilities. Participants receive job preparation training to prepare for successful employment and paid work experience to help develop their skills and identify their future career goals.
“It is a great honor to receive this award,” said Rmuly. “I think this is a tangible example of the City of Fort Worth’s commitment to every employee and department to be an active member of the community.”
Rmully has been Director of the Municipal Court since July 2020.
“The City Court team, under William’s leadership, have really embraced going out in the community, and the Summer Earn & Learn program is a great example of this stewardship,” said Valerie Washington, Deputy City Manager. “It’s great to celebrate William’s help in placing over 70 youth with disabilities into positions throughout the city of Fort Worth over the past three years. I am excited by the continued work of this team to find new ways to expand their community footprint and foster continued partnerships with Goodwill North Central Texas.
