Beaufort County Community College hosts online auction to support students and cover tuition fees
WASHINGTON, NC (WNCT) – Beaufort County Community College makes sure students feel secure when it comes to paying their tuition fees. BCCC is running an online auction to benefit scholarships and tuition fees for students.
The auction will feature items such as travel, vintage items, and signed sports memorabilia, among others. Serena Sullivan, vice president of institutional advancement, said any money going into the auction can change a student’s education life.
“Sometimes the difference between coming to college and not coming to college can be as little as $ 85 for a code for a class or as much as $ 1,200 for books,” Sullivan said. “Sometimes when the students have no hope, then what we do makes a difference and everyone who donates and everyone who comes to that auction and makes a bid, they need to feel good about it. ‘they actually make a difference for a student.
The school also organized a fundraiser for a golf tournament which raised a significant amount for scholarships.
Sullivan adds that when it comes to all the hard work they do, it’s just what they feel called to do. She says helping students is their top priority.
