Answer The Call Foundation pledges financial support to family of slain NYPD officer Jason Rivera – CBS New York
NEW YORK (CBS New York) – The Answer the Call Foundation said it will provide financial support to the family of NYPD officer Jason Rivera, who was shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute in Harlem on Friday.
The foundation immediately donates $25,000 to Rivera’s spouse.

The organization, which was founded by family members of deceased police officers and firefighters, also aims to raise more funds for the Rivera family down the road.

“Answer the Call promises to honor our fallen heroes by helping those they loved most – their families… May we never forget the dangers our first responders face every time they show up to the work and may we always remember and honor those heroes who don’t go home,” Stephen Dannhauser, chairman of the board of Answer the Call, said in a statement.
The organization says it is praying for the recovery of officer Wilbert Mora, who was seriously injured in the shooting.
