Workshop Advocacy
I cannot recommend Alan Moore too highly as a speaker or as someone to run a workshop.
In fact he has a rare combination of:
- Expertise in an immensely fashionable area
- An excellent book to prove that he had spotted the area before it became fashionable.
The book lends weight to the views of a highly entertaining and engaging speaker - and a speaker who, because of his background as a creative can actually execute ideas as well as theorising about them. This means he can do more than speak - he can host highly interactive sessions and seminars, which, can actually solve problems as well as merely talking around them.
I should also add that Alan’s specialism – “communities”, and in particular digital communities - is a hot topic for a very good reason.Increasingly the millions spent on conventional marketing are no longer obtaining the “predictable” result because the messages are no longer consumed by an audience of individuals, but are predigested (and sometimes regurgitated) by the blogosphere, textosphere and millions of other powerful communities. The old certainties simply no longer apply.
This is an important trend - and it has no better chronicler than Alan.
