Super Stable
The sucessful mobile racing game from Hong Kong

Far EasTone (FET), New World Mobility (NWM) and wireless game provider Imoeba launched the world's first cross-border mobile network game, extending NWM's mobile horse racing game Super Stable http://www.egege.com/sp_g_horse.shtml link! to Taiwan.

The new service will allow both Taiwan and Hong Kong customers of Super Stable to participate in a same race with their handsets via short messaging service and WAP, any time, anywhere. Enabled by the state-of-the-art technology, customers can enjoy the enormous fun of this 'borderless' mobile game.

Launched in mid January, Super Stable is Hong Kong's first mobile horse racing game jointly developed by New World Mobility and Imoeba. Customers can indulge themselves as virtual horse owners and enjoy the excitement of bringing up their horses to become the 'King of Horse'. Using SMS or WAP service, customers can play the nurturing game and participate in horse races anytime, anywhere.

Market Performance

Super Stable was launched in Hong Kong in January 2002, in cooperation with New World Mobility. The game received overwhelming response with over one million of short messages exchanged during the first three months from its launch.

  • In wake of the favourable response in the market, an enhanced version incorporating the mating function was introduced in May 2002.
  • Through the introduction of a system by New World Mobility (NWM), all non-NWM mobile users in Hong Kong were able to play the game.
  • With the cross-operator and cross-region functions, Imoeba has partnered with Far EasTone and New World Mobility to launch Super Stable in Taiwan in June 2002. Super Stable has become the world's first cross-border mobile network games, allowing both Taiwan and Hong Kong players to participate in a same race through their handsets.
  • In November 2002, the game has been Co-launched in Macau by Imoeba, CTM and New World Mobility.
  • In Feb 2003, the game has been launched in Shanghai by China Mobile and Tianjin by Unicorm respectively.
  • Super Stable generated higher ARPU than the heaviest business users.
  • Super Stable increased data revenue up to 50%. Competitors would normally claim 12 to 15% of revenues generated by non voice data.

Joseph H. O’konek, President of Far EasTone said: It allows our customers to interact with other users in Hong Kong via IVR, SMS, WAP, and GPRS platform, bringing us one step further towards our vision: Anywhere, anytime, communications enrich the lives of people.

Super Stable demonstrates a growing Nomadic Life. A Nomadic Life, by its very nature is a life built around more intense and profound personal experience.
