Taipei is one of the world’s most connected cities. Personal computer usage in Taiwan is high, with 88 per cent of households using a computer – and 83.6 per cent using the internet, compared with around 65 per cent in the UK and just under 70 per cent in the US.
A remarkable 89.3 per cent of Taipei’s 5 million residents have broadband access and the entire city will have free wi-fi access by the end of the year – the first in the world to have that facility.
